Hi, I've been into collecting tractors for some time, but always wanted to get into a little pulling. However, I really wanted to pull something a little different. I just purchased a nice 1937 Case CC Tractor. Has anyone had any experience pulling a CC? What upgrades or modifications should be done to the CC to make it competitive. I know weight wise, I'm probably going to be pulling 3500-4000lbs, which would put me up against Farmall H's and JD B's, ect which a guy can get alot more Horsepower out of, but just curious what your thoughts are. Any input is greatly appreciated! Thanks Again! Rob

You'll probably be pulling against more Farmall Ms than Hs and more John Deere As & Gs than Bs. Most Bs that I've seen can't handle the classes your weight fits. Build it up to DC spec's and you should be able to pull competitively. I have a stock DC that dynoed 52 hp. It has done very well against Farmall Ms, Hs, Massey Harris 44s, John Deere As and Gs, Oliver 66 and 77, etc. It doesn't win every time but it is consistently top 3. My brother's DC dynoed 47 hp and my cousin's was 54. These old tractors have a lot left when it sounds like they're about dead. They'll just keep pulling right on down to a very low RPM. You can make that CC a good puller without spending a fortune as long as you don't try to make it run 10 MPH.

Thanks for your help-I really appreciate the info! I've always thought that these old Case tractors are so under-valued. The torque and lugging power the old Case's had truely amazes me. I know my CC has had extensive headwork done with dome pistons already. I was told it had a 400 carb on it, but I don't know how to tell the difference. I'm just looking forward to having some fun with the old girl.

Should get at least 80 hp with stock stroke depending on bore size, I have been placing with mine locally and 3rd in 5500 at Columbus, Ne, 2nd in 5000 antique and 3rd in 5500 antique at Sigourney. They have lots of potential, I like pulling them because it's something differen't Around 500cubes is the max. practical limit, more with diminished reliability. Depends on your pulling circuits power requirements, 45 to 60 hp not real hard or terribly expensive.

A guy named Jim Young out of NY pulls a 1932 Case CC and does quite well (Div II firsts in 4500 and 5000). I know (from conversations) that the engine has had some work, but couldn"t tell you what. See the NOvember NATPA results link below. Jim
