Can someone please tell how to find out about tractor pulls in my area?

Also - where can I learn some basic information about what it takes to pull?

I have a 1956 JD 60.

Thanks TOM

Couple quick questions about local PA pulls in reply to CLIFF S, 06-21-2005 19:42:26
I was at Antes Fort this weekend. Maybe you saw us? My wife and kids stood and watched for quite a while. My daughter stands and screams, "old-putt-putt" at every green tractor she sees (even if it is an Oliver).

My 6yr old son saw the younger kid pulling with the JD B model and wants to know when he can pull with the 60... he's got a while to wait.

I have a loader on my tractor - is there any reason I can't pull with it attached?

I read about hitching last night. I'm not coming out to win... I just want to give it a try.

Will my stock 60 (with the loader on it) be able to pull any distance - without breaking something? It has decent rear rubber - but they're mismatched - There's a Firestone on one side and an Armstrong on the other. Both have a little dry rot.

Thanks for your time.

TOM

I should mention that I can't afford to break this tractor. I'm using it -- a lot.

The transmission has some whines and groans, particularily in the higher gear. In first and second she's tight and quiet.

I was at anties fort and if you stayed long enough then you seen me pull the super C if knot well it was getting late by then, Aneyway you need to take the loader off to get aneywhere with pulling ,most tractors just spin out or power out very few break unless there highly modified. CLIFF

CLIFF - what time to the pulls start? in reply to CLIFF S , 06-22-2005 17:19:34
Cliff,

We might come to Washingtonville and we'd like to come to Nesbit. I'm not sure. What time do the pulls usually start?

If we can make it we'll be easy to find. I'll be driving a restored 1979 International Scout II. They're aren't many left.

I love the old IH's - don't ask how I ended up with a 60. :)
