STOCK FARMALL (M) HAS A 10" CONNECTING WITH A 5.25" STROKE. COMES OUT WITH A RATIO OF 10-5.25=
1.9047 .
If you increased the stroke by 1/2", to maintain the same ratio, the connecting rod should be lengthened to 10.952>
QUESTION ?
HOW FAR CAN YOU STROKE A CRANK AND NOT INCREASE CON-ROD LENGTH !

I wouldn't worry about it BUD. I know of Ms running 6.5 and 6.75 stroke with stock rods and no problems.

Hey BUDD,

Check out the upcoming series of articles in Old Power Pride magazine. They're gonna be building a 355 CI M motor from start to finish.

The longer the rod the better to reduce cylinder wall side loading/friction. Of course with stroking most engines run out of room for an ideal lenght rod.

VERY LITTLE, YOU HAVE TO SHORTEN ROD WHEN YOU INCREASE STROKE

DC:
THANK'S FOR THE REPLY !!!
I CAN RAISE WRIST PIN HEIGHT AND MAINTAIN ROD LENGTH ! BUT, STILL THAT CREATES MORE SIDE WALL FORCE ! MOST IMPORTANT !
RODE THE SLED AT SOUTH BEND, COULDN'T BELIEVE YOUR RUNNING A TACK, ABOUT FELL OF THE SLED LOOOKING AT YOUR RPM NUMBER'S, INFACT I WAS HANGING OFF THE BOAT !!! I THOUGHT I'D CATCH THE WEIGHT ON THE WAY DOWN ! CAN'T EVEN REMEMBER YOUR GROUND SPEED NUMBER ! MISSED PULLING AGAINST YA THIS YEAR, ONLY A HAND FULL OF GUY'S WHO WIN AND PLACE SECOND WELL !!! I'VE GOT A GOAL FOR NEXT YEAR . 1 JACKET'S , 4 PATCHES.
YOUR GONNA NEED 1OHP MORE AND ABOUT .35 INCREASE IN ROAD SPEED !!! I THINK BUDD'S GONNA DIG A LITTLE HARDER THIS WINTER TOO !!! IT'S AMAZING WHEN YOU PUT YOUR THINKING CAP ON, THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THE MISTAKES THAT COME OUT !
ONCE AGAIN PUT IT ON THEM TUFF !
