We were all told that there was going to be a 5500 5mph King of the Hill, but it was changed to a 6500 wide open class after we got there. I'm not sure why, but I guess some of the local molines couldn't make 5500. None the less, between the sudden class change, the used car parts buried in the track, and the sled that was nailed to the ground, we won't be back, it is a long way to drive for this kind pull. There were alot of tractors ther, but I bet half of them won't be back either. One guy even had one of his V-cuts cut down by some of the scrap metal all over the ground!

To TN PULLER, I'm sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the pull Saturday night. (Even more not to hear about it at the pull--but on this forum) but let me clarify, yes I understand that rumors were about lots of different classes, I am personally responsible for the website and the ad in the HOOK in and no way did we say there was even going to be a K of H or anything else. CKAP with the the sponsorship of the businesses in and around Allen Co. were able to give 50% payback and $100.00 extra in each of the regular CKAP classes, which came to $1700.00. We did exactly what we said we would do. I want you and everyone else that pulls CKAP to know that neither Doug or myself (the local Moline's) had anything to do with the K of H being 6500--but would have been idiots not to have pulled in it. I think anyone who know's us would tell you that we aren't in this sport for the money but for the friendships and good ol' fun of getting together. I announced in the driver's meeting exactly what we were doing and asked for questions and no one mentioned a 5500--had you questioned this we would have been more than willing to make adjustments. As for the track, I would have preferred not to have pulled my new cuts on that track (a new one was built but the lights and PA was not ready yet)--I feel the same way when I am at Auburn, Adams and other tracks, but I go to have a good time as most other pullers do.
I wish more than anything that you would have been willing to discuss your concerns with me or the other CKAP people, because we are always open to suggestions and most importantly we want pullers to have a place to pull and enjoy themselves. I have posted my name and e-mail (unlike yourself) and would love to hear from you or anyone else that were there about what we can do to make it better next year. So, TN PULLER, here is an open invitation to call, email or flag me down at the next pull and talk with me about your concerns--had you done that Saturday night we could have made adjustments. Good luck to you in your pulling and let me make this suggestions: speak your mind, give your ideas and you and the people putting on the pull will all benefit and most of have a GOOD TIME PULLIN'.

YOU KNOW I HAVE PULLED WITH CKATP OFF AND ON FOR A FEW YEARS AND HAVE NEVER SEEN A PROBLEM THAT WAS NOT ADDRESSED RIGHT THEN AND SOLVED. MAYBE SOMETHING HAS CHANGED BUT I DON'T THINK SO. ITS EASY TO GET ON HERE AND BASH CKATP AND HILLSIDE WITHOUT HAVING TO TALK FACE TO FACE WITH OFFFICALS OF THE PULL. MY ANSWER TO THE PROBLEM THAT THE TN PULLER HAD JUST DON'T GO BACK AND LET EVERYONE ELSE MAKE THEIR OWN DECISIONS! BUT DON'T BASH EVERY CLUB IN KY. JUST BECAUSE ITS NOT YOUR WAY!! I GO FOR A GOOD TIME AND TO SEE FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS(OTHER PULLERS)!! JUST MY 2 CENTS WORTH AND REALLY HAVE NO DOG IN THIS FIGHT!!

Seems alot of rumors got out about this pull. Their web site talked about the extra money the fair was putting up for the pull. The KOH was extra on top of that. Yes there are some things that could be worked on, but we all could have been home with no pull at all to go to. I'll go back if I get the chance. Their good people and will work with you to make it better. Talk to them about your complants.

Tyler, have been having a lot of clutch problems lately. I couldn't get it to disengage when it spun out, so I shut the motor off. We finally rocked it enough to get it out of gear. Eric Weaver pulled me back to the trailer and I loosened it up some and got it working again.

Yes, there was lots of rumors.(Maybe started by some TN folks to discredit CKAP.) Did you see a flyer saying $500 in a 5500KOH? Or any paper work with garanteed money amounts? It was on the web site as 50% plus added money per class. No exact amounts were given. They would be crazy to do that. You can't count money until the sign-up sheet is finished. Usually the drivers meeting is when any special classes or payout or whatever is talked about. During the drivers meeting only 1 (ONE) question was ask about KOH. One of the Sullivan"s ask about the RPM's at 20%. Didn't know about someone cutting a tire on car parts, but TNpuller I'll bet you didn't drive half as far as some to the pull. If you don't pull where they have had demo derby's, then you won't be going to Springfield, Lawranceburg, Dickson or any other Tenn. or KY. pull where there has ever been a fair. By the way---what happened to all the Olivers and Farmalls in the KOH???

We haven't pulled at Charlotte in 6 or 7 years. We pull at Dickson fair grounds on our on track, with no DERBY PARTS. Come try out our track some time.

Where Dickson pulls now is a good place with a good track. Have not been able to go there lately, but pulling is all the track had been used for at that time. Very good parking area and the site is easy to get too.
