I intend to start work on a DC puller later this winter, I am aiming for 4 5/8" Bore and 6 1/2 or 7" stroke. I am pretty sure there is room enough in the block. Can anybody share some experiences or point me in the right direction. I have a small budget so keep that in mind....I would appreciate any info. Thanks.

Budget? with that much stroke? those 2 don't go together. I have a 51, stock stroke, 4 1/8 mw domes, and run out of traction at 7500, but that is pulling in low gear. It eats jd70's all day.

Glad to see you putting another Case on the track, but an LA pound for pound, you can get more hp, more cid, and pull just about as light as a DC, according to NATPA, and i think usap(not sure on usap) a DC cannot be run in a class below 4500, i am running my la at 5500 and 6500, and could go a little bit lighter. may be something to think about..

usap doesn't have that rule, about a DC below 4500, which is good, I don't like that rule. but I agree a L or LA may be a better choice. If money isn't a problem I would build a 900 or 600. I am putting one together now.

I Don"t think a case Dc is that bad of a puller We have two of them. One we pell and pull it in farm class in 5500 6000 6500 and 7000 and last year we were the points champion in 5500 6000 6500 and 2nd place points champion in 7000 We only got $2,500 in it. Plus it only has 47 horse at 540. the other dc we just cracked the block on when we put it on the dyno. That one is antique got $9,000 in that one has 109 horse at 540. its points champ in 4300 4600 5000

What does money not being a problem feel like?
