What is the best technique to apply decals to my JD B. I got them from Jorde's Decals. They are the ones that don't leave any film between the letters. I have never done this before. Thanks for your help.

Hi,

It sounds like you have the nice cut vinyl decals where each letter is an individual decal on a common backing that is removed. If that is true, installation instructions are given here. I used that type of decal on my AC-B about three years ago. I love 'em. They use a strong adhesive so don't plan on moving anything around after contact like the old mylar decals that could float a bit on a wetted base. The cut vinyl ones are actually quite easy to install once you know the routine, follow instructions carefully and take your time. I know it is recommended they not be applied until the paint is fully cured but that was not possible in my situation. I had decided to clear over the decals to enhance their appearance and to provide a measure of physical protection to them. The clear had to be applied within one week of my color to obtain proper intercoat adhesion. I installed my decals two days after color and cleared that same day. I have not had any problems with that method. Of course that was with a hardened urethane color, so I don't know about other variations in paint type.
