HOW SHOULD I "WASH" PARTS, THAT WERE CLEANED W/ CLEANERS, PAINT REMOVERS AND OTHER CHEMICALS. IF I DO NOTHING, WILL THE RESIDUE LEFT BEHIND FROM THESE PRODUCTS AFFECT PAINT ADHESION? WHAT IS THE FINAL METAL PREP STEP BEFORE BEGINNING THE PAINT PROCESS? THANK YOU AGAIN.

A wax and grease remover such as PPG DX330. Apply and wipe off until the rag is clean. Do not let it dry on the metal. Follow with a tack rag.

Gas does an excellent job.....just be very careful using it. Sounds crazy but it does work. Fifty years back, working P/T in a body shop, that was their final wipe down before spraying cars. Have used it since in all my metal painting projects. Use care!!

There are better products than gasoline. It leaves a residue that may or may not be compatible with the better paints.

You have stated that gasoline may leave a residue on the parts and I was wondering if a lacquer thinner would also leave a residue ?
I was thinking that the lacquer thinner may be better but then I may be incorrect. Thanks !
