I am just starting to restore a Ford 9n 1947. I want to repaint it with the red belly and grey. Is there information out there about the coloring of parts? I plan on sandblasting, and using airesol can primer. Is Dupont paint as good as anyother to use for this job with a sprayer? Are the rims the same color as the hood? I really can not tell. They seem more a cream, or silver. Any help with the exact paint colors would be greatly appreciated.Thank you

Thanks Truck for the information.I guess I know it is a 9n, but I still want to paint as an 8n with the red. I think they look awsome. Thanks Adrian

If you are duplicating the 8N paint scheme, which is very common to do,Front rims and the rear centers will be the same color as the hood. which on an 8N is a tan/grey kinda color. All cast iron will be red, seat should be black. Rear rim outers should be a silver or plated finish. Most use aluminum paint on them. Of course if you are trying to go the original color for a 2N (3 speed, 1947 Ford tractor) it would be a darker grey for everything except the wheel outer rims, and some small details.
Buy the best paint you can afford if you care how it will look next year...If all you are looking for is protection cheaper paints will do.

DuPont and PPG are equivalent. Don't Prime with spray can and try to paint with a gun. The paints may not be compatible. For exact colors ask on the Ford board, if no one answers here.
