I went to my local NAPA today and they had a commercial equipment coating (forgot the product line) for about $60.00 a gallon? Good stuff? I want to paint my 1962 F504D. The color was "Case/IH Red.

Those Industrial Enamels are excellent for equipment that can be stored inside during disuse.

They lack UV resistance, and as such, a poor choice for outdoor [ tractor ] use. A catalitic
[ add hardener ] paint should be used on sun baked equipment. A friend painted a scabby snow plow with industrial paint 10 years ago, rust never popped through coating, stored in shade
when not on truck. Looks great, He also did pickup bed, looks awful ! No rust blisters.

I don't know about the one you are looking at (since I don't know exactly what you are looking at), but the pretty good stuff runs $130 per gallon (as long as you are outside of CA). Sounds like that isn't the pretty good stuff but maybe the fair stuff. Just my $.02.

If it was premixed it is likely alkyd enamel. What does it say on the can? Alkyd, acrylic, or acrylic modified? If it just says enamel it is likely alkyd. Alkyd enamel is not the best paint in the world. Probably better than the farm store stuff, but not much.
