I have a tractor (WC) to paint for a local mechanic who wants it painted using Tisco (he already has a gallon of the paint). I was wanting to know if it holds its shine very well. I saw a Farmall M he did with Tisco and it still had a wonderful shine. All I have used is Van Sickle, and it fades to fast to suit him, I will never use it on a tractor again either! I was also curious how well it sprays out of the gun. Also is there a hardener I can use with it. In my experience harder will make or break a paint job. Thanks for any input Adam Davis

Hi Adam,
Although you left your question over a year ago,
I just stumbled across it looking for some of the same answers. Here is what I have found thus far.

The Tisco paint is in fact produced by Iowa Paints. There is a hardener that is made for their line of paints. The one problem/question that I am trying to resolve is the company doesn't supply a mix ratio. ie 8 -6 -1 is a mix ratio for PPG Acrilic Enamal where by you would use 8 parts paint 6 parts reducer and one part hardner.
These ratios are normally provided in the manufactors spec sheets but when I called Iowa Paints and talked to the lab folks they seamed a bit perplexed with the question. On the bright side the hardener does give it's ratio for mix on the can so I guess a guy could guess his way through the reducer.
Regards
Don
