It depends on the model of Co-op, and the manufacturer.

The #1, #2, and #3 have a very boxy grill, square frame rails, and a low set seat between the fenders.

The C looks similar to a Wards. (Click link for pic)

The E series are Cockshutts painted orange.

From 1940-1942 after that they started to build stuff for uncle sam after WW 2 they started the model C which was a standard tractor. There were about 500 B-2 tractors built but they were never tested at Nebraska.. (fordson29)

Slo, a lot of big books don't have the info you need I like to find small books and magazines that have articles about odd ball tractors. The info on the B-2 was found in a 15 page pamphlet that was put out by Farm & Ranch living. It has a very nice picture of a B-2 owned by Jim Campbell in washington Court House, Ohio. The tractor used to be a puller with a turbo, four barrel carb.,and a header. I was very impressed because he put it back completely original. You just don't see that happen very often. It makes me feel good to be able to help. Thanks Jonathan (JJK salvage)

The reason I asked was that another individual sent me information that stated there were roughly 500 CO-OP C's built. This came from some Cockshutt literature I believe, even though the C was not a Cockshutt product.

I bought it because I had no idea what it was when I saw it.

Slo, I believe that the B-2s and C co-ops were before cockshutt was involved. Let me do some more checking and try and find some info on your C. I'll try and find some production serial #s for you. Thanks Jonathan (JJK salvage)

My C is definitely not a Cockshutt, but it does have Cockshutt rear rims on it. The frame is so similar to the Wards/Custom/etc. line of tractors that somewhere along some of the same engineers must have been involved.

Thanks for the info so far.

Slo,the Co-op C was designed by Ed Ashley, who with two other top men from Co-op left and started Custom Mfg. Corp.
