Went riding around with the wife today to do some pottery shopping . One of the places we stopped had a couple of old tractors used as lawn ornaments . Anyway , one was an Avery model A .The only reason I know is because it said so on it ! It looked pretty complete less some hoses and fuel lines etc. . Sheet metal was surface rusted but complete and straight , tires were good enough to drive around on . The engine looked ok , no apparent cracks on the block .

Can't buy it for a few months , but would like to know a few things about it .

First , what would something like this be worth ? How hard are parts to find ?

It looked like a very fun project to tackle with my little boy "helping" !

Thanks ,
Ford Man

Hi Mike, I just started digging into my 1946 BF Avery Model A. It runs and looks pretty good. I found out that Napa Auto Parts has a carburetor rebuild kit for a Walbro carb. but not for my Tillotson and thats how I ran into your post, in search of parts. I paid $850.00 for mine, runs good, good rubber and sheet metal just needs paint and the carb rebuilt. Have you found a source for parts yet?

Take Care. Frank Vantacich frankvan@jps.net

I've got a little "history" page that I've made up on the Avery model A. Most of the information I picked up here on this forum over time by asking questions, etc. If you email me using my email link on this post, I'll send it to you. Meanwhile, for yourself and the other fellow who posted a response, there was a guy in Texas on this forum not too long ago who had Avery A parts for sale. Scroll down and y0u'll probably find it pretty quick, it wasn't that long ago.

Sounds like a nice one, I have an 1948,A-Model which I am going to restore. It has an Hercules engine. I need a manifold & rear wheels, but it is a neat little tractor and I've just started looking for parts.
