My father and I have a 1916, single track, Bates Steel Mule which we found in Ireland some years ago. It was in a very poor state and the original engine and gear box were missing. It is now fully restored to working order but we are still seeking original parts so if you know of any one who could help please let me know. There used to be a Bates in the Western Development Museum in Sakatoon Canada - they may be able to provide you with additional information.

Antique Power had an article about a Bates half-track a while back. That magazine has a web site. It's www.antiquepower.com. What kind of condition is it in? Bates (in general) seem to get mentioned in a lot of general tractor history books, too. Haven't seen to much on full crawlers specifically.
