I have come across a 3-wheeled B.F Avery tractor, model A. Owner says it might be a 47' model. It hasn't run for at least 5 years. It has a small crack in the head. It has been in a open-end shed with no spark plugs in 3 of the 4 cylinders. It could use some paint(there is still a decent amount left though). Tin is near perfect with the exception of a small part of the hood. Good back tires but the single front needs replaced. Rear wheel weights. No hydraulics, I think it has a PTO. It needs restored, is $250 too much? I haven't ever seen a AVERY until now.

Grab it while you can! That's about $375 in Canadian dollars and I'd say you found yourself a pretty good deal. There are not a huge number of these little tractors around, at least not up here. It has a little Hercules engine and parts are still available from what I've been told. I've got a '45 which would be the same as yours. I'm going to get started on a restoration this fall. I've got a little 'history' page at home on file about the Avery A and where it came from and where it went to and if you email me your email address I'll send it to you. Do you have a serial number? Write out that cheque real quick-like before somebody else does.
