Hi everybody,

Here's another upload from a Holder collector from europe. My grandfather and I have the biggest Holder collection of the world. We have about 110 Holders, restored and unrestored. Almost every type of Holder that is produced between: 1888 and 1978 is in our collection. And Holder produced a lot of different types. When you wanne take a peek into our barn:

Holder produced tractors with the following engines:
Sachs: 1 cylinder 2 stroke (petrol and diesel) 6,8,10,12 HP
MWM: 2 cylinder 4 stroke (diesel)20 HP
Holder: 1 cylinder 2 stroke (diesel) early model of the sachs watercooled 10 HP
Holder: 1,2 and 3 cylinder 2 stroke (diesel) 12,20,30 HP
Holder: 2,3 cylinder 4 stroke (diesel) 20(early 2 cylinder 4 stroke),28 and 30 HP
The tractors where manufactured in the places: Grunbach and Metzingen. In Metzingen is still the production of the modern Holder tractors.

when you have any question about Holders please contact me and I will try to answer them.

Sincerely,

Niels den Boer

I have a 1961 A12. Any chance you have an owner's manual? My father bought this off an old-timer.

I'm going to try and upload some pictures of a A12,( 1965 I think? ). The owner needs a manual or just a schematic diagram of the electrical system.

The Holder Cultitrac is in The world of Classic Tractors by Ian M Johnston and Gary is spot on , they were made in Grunbach, Germany in the early 1950's with a 12HP Sachs engine, by the photos in the book they were an army green/grey color.

It is just like Gary described except it is manual steering and it has a Sachs single cylinder two cycle diesel engine. If any one can help find a manual that would be a big help.

Holders were of German manufacture, from what I recall, first appearing in the States in the late 50's. An acquaintance of mine has an A-12 which has a single cylinder 2 cycle diesel engine. I believe the engine was built by MWM and I have been told that the cylinder was the same bore as a WW2 gun (possibly 88MM?) All that I have seen are 4WD that articulate in the middle w/ hydraulic steering. The hoods were similar to the Porche's in that they flipped forward. The several that I have seen were painted what I would term a "deep forest green". I understand that someone in Maryland bought up most of the parts in the U.S. and is now selling them.

I realize this is sketchy and if others have better info and/or corrections, maybe they will post them.

Steve,

I have never heard of and can't find any information on a Holder tractor. Is it from; the teen's, 20's, 30's, 40's, or 50's? How big is it? Number of cylinders? Tire sizes etc? Post this information and someone will come up with something on it.

Harold H
