I remember my grandfather had a single front wheel Thieman tractor w/ a belly mount cultivator that always was in the shed and it was "his baby." I remember many offers being made for it as I spent many summers with him; but he couldn't let it go because it was made in his hometown of Albert City, IA. I haven't been able to get to their threshing reunion up there in Aug yet, but am planning on it. I would love to see some pictures if anyone can give any. Thanks.

My father bought his Thieman the yr he was married in 1937. He has it restored and in top condition. It was his pride and joy. He passed away 2 yrs. ago.
Now I am trying to decide what I want to do with it. I'm looking for ideas and also what is the value of it.
I'm open for suggestions. I live in Spokane Wa. The tractor is is Mitchell,SD. I will be there in May and June.

The Theiman (pronounced TEEman), from Albert City, Iowa used the model A Ford engine, transmission, and rear end almost exclusively, though I have heard rumors of a few using Dodge and Chevy. I don't think the flathead V8 was put on them at the factory, they were added later and possibly as a kit. Theiman manufacturing made quite a few items for the farmer during their heyday. The Albert City Threshing Show has a Theiman display. The show this year is Aug. 9,10,11 2002.

My father owns a Theiman Tractor and needs info about it, and how to get parts to fix it up!We would love to hear from you! Do you have a parts manuel or a booklet on the one that uses a Model A Ford engine? When is the Albert City Show this year-2003? Thank you for any help.

I have a Thieman Tractor believed to have been built from a kit in the early thirties, and am looking for any information on engine parts for a 1932 Model B Ford as I was told this is the type of engine that is on the tractor.

There is an add in Dec. 2000 "Toy Farmer" for 1/16 scale models of Thieman tractors with photos of the toys. Valu-Cast of Rockford, IL is producing them. (815) 395-8670

A good friend of mine owns a Thieman tractor that is in mint condition and would like another one. He is part of the Puget Sound Antique Tractor and Machinery Association of which I write their newsletters for them. If you know of anyone who has one for sale that I could contact for him I would greatly appreciate it.

I am looking at a picture of what the owner believes to be about a 1933 Thieman. He found it in Grandin,ND around 1987 in basket case condition. This particular tractor has a 239 cu.in. flathead V-8.I have seen two others in Fort Ransom,ND at Sodbuster Days with 4 cylinders. One with a four speed and one with the three pedals. The first Thiemans didn't have serial numbers. The company also built burial vaults during WW2 and soon went out of business after the war. Built on a tubular frame, the origional tractors used a reconditioned Ford Model-A engine. It was billed as the tractor for the average farmer, selling new for $363.75,complete with engine.

I have one that I am just starting the restoration process on. Lots of rust but it is pretty much all there. I will be needing a new front rim for it though since the one on it sat in the dirt a few too many years.

My boys (stepson, soninlaw and grandsons) and I just aquired a Thieman this past week-end.It is "Butt Ugly" but since it was owned by my wifes late uncle Harold Treiber we plan to try to make it run and look like a new one. I will be posting pictures as soon as I get my prints back. And I'll be posting more as the restoration progresses.
