I was at a tractor show last weekend and a fellow there had a 1939 Cletrac General GG. Actually, it was the first restored one that I've ever seen. Anyways, it was painted 2-tone. The main part of the tractor like the frame, engine, transmission, front end, etc. was painted the Cletrac Orange, while the tin work (hood and fenders) was painted sort of a dull yellow color. I asked the owner and he said his was one of the first 30 or so that were built and these early ones did in fact have the 2-tone paint job. Anyone ever hear of this?

see "PAINT" on Avery page link by Larry below...

Doubt very much that CLETRAC would have used anything but their Orange on the GG Generals... Sounds like someplace along the way someone picked up some tin from an Oliver OC-3

These tractors were sold by massey harris for a brief period, and were painted yellow with massey harris on the side of the hood. I know someone that owns one,and there is one in a farm museum in Cannada.
