Help! My husband and I own an older Long farm tractor and we are having problems with it shutting off after it runs for about two hours. We have taken it to a mechanic and he can't find ANYTHING wrong with it. We are searching for suggestions and/or help finding info. with the Long tractor company. I've tried to get ahold of Long Mfg. in Tarboro N.C. but they seem to be no longer in business. Can anyone help us?

Hey Carl, Contact Sweet Tractors @www.sweet-tractors.com for beginners . I have a model 455 LONG myself. Finding out my tractor was made in Romania with a engine nameplate on the left side of the engine with it having Fiat on it. LONG tractors are manufactored in three different country. Told to me by Ken at Sweet Tractor, A parts counter guy, I found out about parts availibilty before I bought mine. Dave Elieff

Your tractor should have a plate riveted to the right side of the trans case, near the top with model and serial numbers stamped in it. I am a Long dealer and can ship parts anywhere in U.S.

The Tractor was built in Romania under license from Fiat and sold through Long Mfg. out of Tarboro, NC. If it is a 65 horse it should be a 610, but the power assist steering set up leads me to believe it is a 560. Only 56 horsepower. But the 1981 model should be a 610
