I recently purchased a 1948 B.F. Avery Model A. It is painted yellow with Minneapolis Moline BF Decals on the hood, that had been covered with B.F. Avery decals at sometime or another. Is it a B.F. Avery or Minneapolis Moline BF. The Serial Number located on the Right Hand Frame Rail located at the Rearend is 14A-687.

I JUST RECENTLY PURCHASED A 1949 B.F. AVERY MODEL A IT WAS PAINTED IH RED AND SILVER
I AM 90% COMPLETE WITH THE RESTORATION
THE ENGINE RUNS GOOD AND I MAY ENTER SOME LOCAL ANTIQUE PULLS THIS SUMMER
I COULD REALLY USE SOME GOOD FENDERS FOR THE REAR
IF ANYONE HAS THEM I HAVE SEVERAL EXTRA ENGINE PARTS FROM A TRACTOR I BOUGHT AND STRIPPED
I HAVE 2 FENDERS FOR A MODEL R THAT ARE IN GOOD
CONDITION AND WOULD CONSIDER TRADES.

I am having trouble finding Main bearings for a motor IXB3.. would you have some or tell me where to get them.. I had a person tell me to use used ones that are in good shape.. would this be a good idea.. if so do you have a set that will fit..the crank is standard..This engine was took apart and the mains were not there when I got the tractor..Thanks Roger

I to have a 1948 model A painted yellow. The M-M dealer painted it yellow after taking in on trade. Original paint under the yellow is tarter red. Think maybe M-M informed dealers to repaint and decal after the purchase.

The B. F. Avery & Sons co was bought out by MM about 1951. The MM BF tractor was originally the Avery Model R. MM already had a Model R so the model was changed to a BF in honor of B.F. Avery. The Avery model R wasn't produced until 1950 so chances are that you have an Avery model A.
