read your post on 10-29. how did you ever make out w/ the tractor that lost 3rd. Did you convert it to a power unit? Also it appauls me that someone would use someone elses name to post. That's just not right. You seem to have alot of knowlage. It's nice that you are willing to share it. I know nothing about farm tractors. I do know that J.D. relies on there past name. Oh well. Just thought I would voice my opinion, everybody has one. Ed P.S. 6000 acers, wow! I have 31 and spend days mowing to keep it from over growing.

Thanks for the shout Ed..
I'm in the process of putting the Long motor on an irrigation pump. Have'nt started yet, but that's the intent.
Oh no, I've got too old and stiff to do much but walk and look anymore. The acres are split up into 3 farms, everybody does his own thing, but the co does have about 5000 in turf production and the rest in trees and shrubs.
These guys get a lot of flying time in mowing, the turf is a constant never ending lawn cutting experience, and harvesting is really labor intensive.
I don't really know too much I guess. I worked on diesel equip of all kinds for about 40, then got into retirement. I just piddle now and try to help when I can. I retired about the time they outlawed freon here. Around here if you can work on a/c's and power steering the rest is machs nix, the a/c has been the gravey money for years now.
I moved 3 of these boys around on the farm and at the home place here, and so far I have'nt noticed anybody posting for me. I did'nt tell them why they got changed up, so I guess it narrowed to 3 now.
