I need help with the Hydraulics for the three point on this 445 Long tractor. I don't know much about it. I changed the fluid, blead the system, and after that it will work for a short while then it will not work again. If I bleed it again it will work again for a short while then it will stop again. If I could get any help it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. B Ford.

I would have to ask questions. Does your 3 point quit suddenly but your remote valve will pressure up. If so this will mean your dump valve is sticking in the up positions. There is a cap plug just under the seat that will take a 1-1/16 wrench to fit it. Remove the cap but remember there is a large but weak spring underneath. Inside this bore is a hollow valve (dump valve). You can use one or two fingers to pull or work this valve out of housing. Clean valve and bore and reinstall and make sure it works freely. This valve is bad about trapping moisture and trash, which cause it to stick. Another problem area is inside the in line hydraulic filter, sometimes when old filters are removed the rubber seals do not come out with it. This seal sometimes drop into the inlet of the pump and cause cavitation. It is wise to replace the filter every couple of years. I know it is a metal screen and can be cleaned but it still builds up tarnish and causes problems.

Sounds like your pump is sucking air instead of oil. The problem could be a leak at either the inlet line or the pump shaft seal.

I don't know the 445, but on my Long it has 2 plugs in top front of differential cover, below front of seat between your legs. They are both some sorts of relief valves.
When mine is having the same symptoms as yours the brass washer seated at bottom of hole has stuck under the left one.
These plugs on mine are 15/16" headed.
If your Long is like our 2 Longs, you will have plenty of hydraulic experience before long.

Which company made the Long445 and where are they located?
