Hi! I have a 1928 Rumely X 25-40. I am in the midst of restoring it with my son. We have torn apart the rear-end and I am needing a picture from the owner's manual of the rear-end so I can tell if there is any problems. This tractor was my grandfather's. He bought it during WWII when he couldn't get parts for his Oliver. The used it to pull a pull combine with a 20-25' head. I have the mag taken apart and am waiting on getting the core back to put it back together.
I would like to put it in a few antique tractor pulls next year. There is a big threshing days in Yuma, CO that we would like to display it at.
Look forward to hearing your stories.
Dave

I just inherited one of these beasts and it has already give me burcitius in both shoulders and it has been only 1 season, I live up here in Lions Head Ont. Canada and it has been at 4 shows so far this year and first an orphan , 2nd me alone , 3rd 2 of us and 4th there were 3 my 25-40, a 30-50 and a 40-60, a lot of guys who have these things are just parade runners, there were 41 steamers at the Blyth show and they start at 5;00 am and shut the steam off after the parade at 4;30, except the guy who steams the free corn after supper, I can really see why the clubs sponser the trucking on them dirty stinking things "they are amusing to the public" due to the scarcity of the rumleys the clubs that I was at sponsored part of my trucking so I tried to keep up to the steamers on the shingle mill baker fan and I got 2 cracks at the grain threshing, one show was both days on the threshing machine,Due to them not being a good puller take advantage of the opportumnity of showing your stuff on the belt, Dont forget CANADA will shine Labor day in Milton Ont with the Rumley Feature We expect 100 tractors Rumley that is! have a good one and my memory of the rumley was the sawmill and the thresher from daylight til dark, not even shut down at dinner time, SO PUT HER TO WORK AT THE SHOWS

I am putting back together a Rumely model X at this time. Just started to get it running. Did you ever get a copy of the owners manual. I have the parts and owners manual but found they don't give you many assembled views. I received my Rumely carb in a box and had to figure out how to assemble it by trial and error.

I am having trouble getting my X running good. It seems to start easy and then I leave to to idle for some time (5-10 minutes) and then when I go to move it it stalls and is almost impossible to get restarted. Checked mag, carb, fuel pumps etc.
