Does any know of ,or want to chat about RARE ,OLD tractors. You know the early stuff ,before rubber tires. This is a TRACTOR website right ,not a "modern" 40's ,50's ,and even 60's site only.Maybe there could be a separate forum for the older tractors.Maybe it's just me but i can only look at so many JD H's ,B's ,and D's before i get bored and they all start to look alike.

Well a bunch of pics sounds great ,but it's not up to me ,when and were. The idea i had was a separate page or group so the message (and there fore pics) don't keep slipping further down the board.

Why not make the break at 1939? In 1940 was when a lot of changes were made (electric start, distributor ignition etc...). I really like the pre-1940 stuff.

Not all of us guys and gals like the newer tractors, I still farm with them. I like the old Hart Parr's, Aultman Taylor's, Oil Pull's, etc, etc,. I emailed the host of this site several years ago about this but got no answer. Hope this helps.

I also agree. If it's on rubber it's too new. Well..... .there are a FEW exceptions. I do have a couple pets on rubber.

I have found an interesting old tractor ,on steel, wide front,Le Roi engine called a BAILOR tractor or a BAILOR cultivator. The antique tractor encyclopedia says none known to exist but I just purchased it in Arkansas. Any interest?

Going thru Arkansas 6 yrs ago I saw several hit-miss engines in a field grown over and finally finding the owner and arranging a closer look, he took me into an old storage to show me more and I spotted this old piece that I thought I recognized as a Bailor and when I asked if it was in fact a Bailor he was surprised I knew what it was!It was not for sale at the time but later he was diagnosed with Parkinson's and called to see if I was still interested. Of coursr I was and purchased it "as is" and it has been in my barn ever since. Iprobably will never get the time to restore it but hope to get connected with someone or a group who may be interested.

I have several hundred photos of "old tractors" taken at shows and of being restored. I know Craig can add the narrative to each one. I need to get done farming here first before I can start posting stuff. By the way, Craig has more time than money.
