hello leader fans!! i have aleader 48D. i have been toying with the idea of restoring it, but untill now i was at a stand still in searching for info. this forum seems like a great place to get some. out here on the east coast no one has even heard of a leader tractor. mine runs great except for a rusted out manifold, which can be bought new still. it is all rusty and over the years it has had some quick "farm fixes." i would love3 to see somr pics of restored leaders as a reference, as well as magazine articles, web site info as well as club info. any and all info would be great Thanks for all of your time

I was raised on a small farm outside of Richmond Virginia. In May of 1949, my father bought a 1949D Leader Tractor. It was a very good small farm tractor, and we used it to farm about 160 acres in general farming, grains, hay, vegetables, etc. We kept the Leader Tractor until 1955, then traded it in for a 2 year old Ford 8N. Now, I live in Nebraska, have seen several restored Leader tractors, and they are very rare here. Restored Leader Tractors sell for $2,000 to $4,000 in Nebraska, Iowa and Missouri. There were very good features on the Leader Tractor, Up & Down Hydraulic , 3 point hitch, height for row crop work and a Hercules engine. If you now of any Leader tractors for sale, please, let me know. Thanks, John Leber (402-734-3544)
