I have a Bolens G174 3 cylinder desiel. The hydraulic lift won't raise a load anymore. When it is not hooked up to anything it will rise but you can easily push it back down even with the tractor running. Does anyone have any ideas as what is wrong and what I need to do to fix it?
Thanks

Take the cover off of the transmission and replace the o- ring on the plunger.

My father has a 1961 Bolens lawn tractor and desperately needs a part for it. The tractor needs a hydro assembly part. The model # is 197-03
Serial # - 8361
Transmission # - 16145
Part # - 1719864
If there isn't such a part, he would settle for a hydrostat pump.

Please contact Charles at (989)539-1906.

How old a Bolens? If your talking 10-15 years including the 4x4 Iseki's try :

www..exmarkdealer.com/pipersville/lines.htm

That is the web site for Pipersville Garden Center. I'm from the Troy NY area. Some friends/former Gardenway employees recommended I go here for parts for my '91 4x4 Bolens/Iseki. They gave this dealer very high marks on knowledge/service. First time I called they knew exactly what I was talking about, thought they had it in stock, they didn't but they ordered it somewhere & had it to my door in a week. I was impressed. Last I talked to them, due to the pricy parts for the Iseki's they were going to start a Bolens bone yard. Hope this helps....

I can purchase an 87 Bolens, diesel, 4 wheel drive 17 HP w/ front end loader, 3 speed PTO, bush hog, box blade, and 7 other implements for $4500, ag tires in good shape....Seems straight and in good working order...Front end loader needs gaskets - has slow pressure loss.

What am I getting in to with this please. Know nothing about the Bolens. Seems right for my applications.
