I found these pictures while surfing the net. From what I can tell, this is all thats left of the old Cockshutt plant in Brantford,Ontario.Sadly,it doesnt look like it will be around much longer.I'll bet this was a busy place in the 1950's.My 428 Cockshutt SP combine must have been built close by.

I believe that's the old "Time Office" that's left. We bought 20' fir timbers from the factory as they were tearing it down in the late '60's and ripped them into 2x12's to remodel my fathers house. Beautifull timbers, absolutley knot free and would be considered furniture grade to-day. Unfortunatley, I guess we didn't appreciate what we were loosing at that time. Incidently, I trucked construction debris from the "new" Massey combine plant in 1962 that only survived 20 yrs (although that building still survives as in industrial complex). Those were very tough times for the City of Brantford. I believe that around 12000 employees were out of work (between Cockshutt ands Massey).

The White combine plant (the old Cockshutt combine plant) was right in that vicinity also. I think it closed in 1985. I wonder if there is anything left of it?

Read an article the other day that said the place is falling down and the second floor has collapsed. The powers that be have taken it off the list as a building to be preserved, From a practicle standpoint I see the point that they would like to develope that site ,but as a history and tractor lover I hate to see something like that go, once gone it is gone forever. Maybe they can preserve some of it, I sure hope so.
