I don't detect any politics involved here. No lying, deception, baby kissing. Just an honest attempt from an individual to obtain some information on getting their tractor repaired.

I am in agreement with NH. Sir(?) you need to learn to read;simile, metaphor or any form of figure of speech does not mean literally. The gentleman was commenting on the type of question, not on the occupation (useful or otherwise) of the original poster. You, like many others either do not read the questions or responses properly, or often answer with the wrong information. I, too, have misread some information at times, but in this case you must simply not understand the statement however many times you might read it.

Instead of those comments, sir, why don't you answer his question, since you seem to be smart??

Can we not do this? John did answer his question when he got all the info. Somebody jumped my @ss over on the "all the rest" forum the same way the other day when massey81 asked about his 1600 power steering. I didn't know the answer from the info he gave, and on that forum his post would have been burried in 12 hours. I told him to post it over here so the right folks had a chance to see it and I got reemed like you guys just did to John. It's kind of early in the winter for anybody to be getting so crabby. What are you guys gonna be like when cabin fever really sets in?

Rick: Thanks for the vote of confidence. That is one reason I did not reply to the 1600 steering question. I stick my foot into my mouth more than I should. Getting back to the 1800 I did not know he had the engine out on the first question. Have a Merry Christmas. Not much snow here, it all blew away. J.

That is like a statement from a polical person. Does it have a hydrapower? Do you want to split it or let it on wheels?

Answer to the last question: NO. Hydraulic unit will need to come off.

It is simple. For about 5 minutes you will need an extra set of hands. I had a genuine Oliver tool kit which contained the plug that you use to drive on the end of the shaft. I would fine someone with a lathe and make one. Then find a long rod and this is where your friend comes in, let him drive on the end of the shaft while you catch the pieces. You at least have an I & T manual, right, if not buy one. J
