I was just wondering if the 1855 came with dual PTO's 540 and 1000. I was looking at mine tonight and above the pto it looks like a spot where the other one should like on the internationals. Thanks for all the input.

Donavan is correct. I have found some PTO's that have a set screw on the bottom side of the housing to lock the rail in place. You'll need to loosen the lock nut & back the set screw out to move the shift rail.

They are dual speed, atleast most are. That spot you are looking at will accept a shaft, but it spins in the opposite direction from what I understand. To switch over, you pull out the 540 or 1000 shaft, whichever you have now. Underneath on the right side there is a shifter rail which you screw a 3/8" bolt into that to get a better grip on it. If you clean off the grease on the area around that rail, you will see cast into the tractor to either push in or pull out to switch speeds. I've found that while shifting the pto, it sometimes helps to insert the stub shaft and rock it back and forth to make sure it's in gear.

Once it's in gear, put the shaft in and the sheild on. You're set.

The upper shaft also turns at engine speed
