I have purchased a 1800c tractor. Bought the owners manual. It is unclear where to fill the trans. Is the fill plug at the top of the pto housing for both the transmission and the final drive? Thanks

It is good that you asked. This forum is to help people keep their equipment in good operating condition. They are both fill and check plugs. Those transmissions have a solid wall beteeen the transmission and the final drive. That is why there are two check plugs. Also keep an eye on the oil levels. Some would transfer oil from the front compartment to the rear compartment and some just the opposite and some behaved the way they were designed. Also for any A or B Series 18 or 1900 without an add on transmission oil pump put the gear shift in the low speed neutal if you need to run the tractor for any PTO work or just to let it run for maore than several minutes. Questions?

On a series C it is one compartment. The oil will run in the transmission from the fill hole.
