I was wandering how thes bolted to the tractor do they slide over the 540 shaft or do you have to remove it and then put it in there How do they hold on higher HP tractors (1755)
I dont remember seeing these in owners manual seen an ad and the last time a found an od option and did not get it I was looking for it later

They slide over the PTO. Now I am trying to remember if the 1800 and larger tractors including all with that PTO are drilled and tapped for bolting the pulley on. We only ever sold one pulley. I have only ever seen 3 others. The one we sold went on a 1600. If you have a 770-880-1600 to look at, look at the PTO case. The 2 half inch tapped holes and the dowel pin hole between each on each side of the shaft are used to attach the pulley. Remember the torque limit of the 540 PTO shaft too. Questions?

To add to what John posted.

I believe the belt pulley could be attached to any American built tractors, from the 1800A up to the 1555 and 1655 tractors. This would include the 2150.

HOWEVER I do not think it would mount on the 1755, 1855, 1955, 2255, 1865, 2055, 2155, G955, G1355's.

The reason it would not fit is because these tractors had hydraulic engagued PTO. The housing on these units were different. I do not think they made any place for the belt pulley to attach.

You might check before you commit to putting one on.

That I just looked up. It is not mentioned in the 55 series shop book, however what I was not sure of and I did find out there was pulley assembly made for the 50 series tractors for use with a 1000 RPM PTO. Also the unit for a 540 PTO. So it you could keep the belt tight it might transmit some torque and not hurt the PTO.
