A neighbor has a 560 Cockshutt for sale that I am
considering. It runs and looks good but I'm little
concerned about getting parts in the future. It
has a Perkins 4-270 engine. Are parts and fuel
system items available for this engine? Is this
engine used in other models? Is there another
motor used to replace this one if needed? Anyone
who specializes in the 560s? Thanks for any input.

Remember the earlier L-4 engine in the Golden Eagle and first year 560 was the first use of a Perkins engine in a North American made farm tractor. We did some work for Payen once on some aftermarket gaskets. In fact 10 years ago or so Napa had a gasket set for it. Payen said it was popular in Europe (L-4 ) but it was not imported here except in the Cockshutt

'roid,

I have many new and used parts available for the Cockshutt 560 tractor. The Perkins 4-270 was not used in any other tractor applications. This engine was used on some Class self propelled combines. Perkins dealers know very little about this series of engine. Some engine parts take time to locate. The CAV rotary injection system parts are readily available. I stock filters and many wear parts for this tractor.
Please let me know when I can assist you further.
