I drained the rearend lube from my Oliver 1800 in order to replace it. I purchased what I thought would be enough 80w90 gear lube. Turned out I drained about 7 gallons out and I only had 4 gallons to put in. I need the tractor and the local TSC is flat out of 80w90 and has been for awhile. I have plenty of 85w140 around. Any thoughts on using this instead? I don't use the tractor in the winter months... If everything is just splash bathed in the rear I can't see how using a thicker lube would hurt anything.

No, you can't use it. NAPA carries 80W-90 in 5 gallon jugs.

I use it all the time in an Oliver and 2 Whites.
