There is a guy in my club that has to move off his family farm. He has an Oliver 88 that I am somewhat interested in. This is what i know about it. Hasn't run since 2001. Not sure if it is locked up or not. It has a wide front. He has all the sheet metal. The hood has been chopped up around the muffler as noted in the photos. Has dual remotes on the back. Has the electrical switches to switch remotes but he says it has been converted to mechanical system. He also has the cultivators for it all has been inside a barn. Has mismatched rubber on the back and the fronts are rather poor and flat. He would like to get $1000 for it would that be a fair value for it not knowing if it runs or not? I assume the wide front is worth something for there aren't many wide fronts around. Is it an original wide front? Thanks

Might want to see if he has any hydraulic cylinders for it, you will have to buy new couplers otherwise. chris

Well then, I guess I best walk out to the barn and see which John Deere needs a new home...

Forgot to mention the Hydra-lectric controls. Most of them have had the electrical component removed. They never really worked very well anyway. I see this one still has all the switches and wiring.

Such a shame that a John Deere will have to be sacrificed to make way for the better shade of green.

If you don't buy it let me know. I will. That is the original wide front end.

the tractor parted out would be worth more than that, so it would be considered a good deal. If all the original sheet metal is good and you remove the wide front, you should be around 1000 in those two items. I'd go for it, and hopefully you get lucky and the engine is free and all you gotta do is tinker with it to get it up and running.
