This problem has been around for awhile, tractor starts and will run all day,but if I shut it off it won't start again unless it sets for a couple of hours. This winter I had the engine rebuilt,Injection pump rebuilt, new fuel lines and seals on fittings.I have'nt run it alot since then but there have'nt been any problems.Yesterday my son took it down the road about three miles, shut it off,and it would'nt start untill it had cooled down.I have changed lift pumps in the past to correct this problem but it does not seem to help. Thanks for any help.

If you just had the engine rebuilt, I would not do much of this driving down the road thing. You need to get a load on the engine to seat those rings!. Questions?

I understand what you are saying, that has worried me, as there is'nt much hard pulling here anymore. We were able to load it some blowing snow this winter, but now it basically just pulls the sprayer. Thank You!

Do you get any smoke when you try to start it. How much smoke do you get when you start it cold? How hard does it start when cold?

When it fails to restart there is no smoke. When I try a little while later it will smoke a little, but I can tell its not getting enough fuel. After it cools down enough it will smoke and will start. It smokes white at start up but clears up after it gets warm.Thank You!

Try killing the engine with the brakes instead of the shut off cable. If the engine will start after doing this the metering valve is sticking. Adding a quart of dexron to the fuel will help if this is the problem

Just a thought, is the vent in fuel tank cap plugged? This happened to me on an Oliver and I took the fuel cap off and that was the problem

I had thought about that when it acted up in the past, however, removing the cap did'nt help. Thank You!
