Almost forgot to wish Hermie, Happy Birthday!!!!

Born on May 10, 1944, At 64 yrs. old, he has never failed to start and do anything I ask him to do!!!! All he wants is to be pampered with, a complete tune up, and wire connections cleaning every so often.

Darn good piece of equiptment!!!! He is two yrs. younger than I, BUT...knows more, and has seen more than I ever will!!!

So HAPPY BIRTHDAY to "Hermie the 2N, with, hopefully, Many more to come!!!!

You all have an "N" day!!!

Hey! Hermie and I share a birthday! Sweet...

He's a little older than I am though, probably wiser too.

When my partner and I ran a V.W./Porsche repair shop, we hired this young "Gyro Gearloose" kid as a flunky. He set about to rebuild an OLD beetle that was out in the yard, by gar he did it out of our 'used' parts bin and painted HERMIE on the side of the thing. He was a proud guy, until he started him up in front of the 'bosses'....you have NEVER heard such a racket !!Luckily it was a V.W. and actually ran, he drove off in a cloud of 'blue dusties' and drove the thing for 6 mos. before it died. Long story... Many Happy returns. b

Sean;

Left side, directly to the rear of the starter, if you have it,(some do not have this), you should see in raised #'s : a letter, then 3#'s like this:

third party image

This says: E104..... ..stands for E= mo. 10= day 4=last dig. of the year..... Which is.....May 10, 1944

see if ya got it!!!!

Hermie says thanks, Jim. Maybe he will like the duck, and quit drinkin' gas, and I won't have to pay the $3.75 per gal. anymore. I think Duck is cheaper!!!!!
I see I screwed up and used The "....", marks on the title of this post. For some reason, the classic side don't like that when the post is generated on the modern side.
Spreads the replies all over the modern side as new posts.

Chris is workin' on fixin' it, I just need to remember not to do that!!!!! :?
Thanks

Gary

I don't know what he has to do. He said when I talked to him on the last go round, it usually straightened out by itself, but it would take awhile to do that. I've been trying to watch out with the subject headers, but forgot this time!!!!! Old habits are hard to break.

Howdy Tom. Do I understand correctly that you are from Perry County, O? If so,are you familiar with the supposedly haunted "Horseshoe Grave" located in the cemetary located a couple miles or so west of Somerset on Otterbein Road which goes off to the left from US 22 as you are headed west? I've shown that spot to many folks over the years. Perry County is one of my favorite counties in Ohio. I live about an hour plus e/ne of Perry County in Harrison County. Mr. Bob

Bob, Yep, I grew up in Somerset and bought a new home three miles west of Somerset on 22. I know the gravesite well. I now live on the south side of Buckeye Lake, but still in Perry County.
