I went out to start my '47 2N.

I pressed the starter button and the engine turned over normally I though it was about to start but it didn't.

I pressed the starter button again and nothing happens, I don't hear any noises other than the click of the button itself (I can't tell if it's a relay click or just the click of the button bottoming out). I haven't gotten out my shop manual yet to start going through the steps, but does anyone have any pointers?

In addition to what the others siad.. when it didn't start on the previous attempt. the starter drive may hve hung in the ring gear.

Ditto what old & Bob said, and while you are cleaning all the grounds & cables, charge the battery.

You probably have a bad connection some place. Check/clean all battery connections amd cables connections

Check ALL connectionns, and the battery, for charge.

Unless the 2N has been "modded", it doesn't have a solenoid, just a mechanical switch.
