Well, I got about 4 more hours out of the
8N this weekend. It was running good, until...
the head gasket blew (or at least I hope that
is what it was) :-( Steam started coming
out from the front while I was running. I
stopped checked the radiator, and low and behold,
no water. So I added water, then I couldn't
get it started. I was checking things when I
noticed that water was leaking pretty good out
of the carb intake. Plus there was an oil coating
in the radiator. I just might do a real rebuild now, I sure hope
my block hasn't cracked anywhere. I'll probably
have time to get the head off tonight after work
and inspect the gasket. It weren't no fun pushing that sucker (with a
front end loader on) back into my garage while
my wife steered. Luckily I was able to pull it
out of the woods with my truck.
