Does anyone know why Henry Ford used two different styles of Brake Pawls to lock the rear breaks? Each one is different on each side of my N. Does each one serve a different purpose? Stock and original as far as I know...

Thanks in advanced-

Our 8N has two different ones but our 2N has identical ones.

This is because they have to lock differently! Check it out! Mine has two different, too. Normal!

I noticed the other day that my left brake had locked itself. Tractor seem to be luggin a little to much and then I notice the left brake pedal was lower than normal. I checked the pawl and sure enough it was engaged. Looked like it was gunked up a little so I shot it with WD40. Didn't happen any more.
