In firing order is the #1 cylinder on an 8N the front cylinder next to the radiator and are they numbered 1-2-3-4 front to back? Please verify that firing order sequence for my 1952 8N is : 1-2-4-3

Thanks!

Yep.. # 1 cyl is at the radiator.. #4 by you. Fires order is correct.. 1-2-4-3 Counterclockwise from the distribuitor..
wire 1 to sparkplug 1
wire 2 to sparkplug 2
wire 3 to sparkplug 4
wire 4 to sparkplug 3

If you remove the distribuitor be carefull...it is not nice and easy like the front mount that can't go in out of alignment.because of off-set cam/tang drive....

Also.. use nice solid copper core wires.. not radiostatic ones. sparkplug gap is .025-.028" champion h10 was oem, but many use something hotter like h12 or AL 437. Point gap for sidemount is .025

The tractor already has a 12 volt conversion. Does this change the plug and the gap?

Ray..... ....no, 6 or 12 volts, the basic ignition specifications stay the same. For the roundcan sidemount 52 8N, timing is 4* BTDC, firing order is 1,2,4,3 CCW, points gap is 0.025, sparkie gap is 0.025. Recommend hotter sparkplug AL-437 for modern no-lead gasoline..... ...Dell
