Ford 8N vs. King Kutter

The King Kutter has no diagrams as to which bit goes where, nor do I have dox's for the 52 8N.

Is there anywhere or anyone who knows step by simple step how to attach and make work this mower?

Also, if it is a new mower, check under the belt cover for the owner's manual. Or you can download an owner's manual from King Kutter's web site.

The mower isn't hard to connect to the tractor. The lower links are pretty obvious as is the upper link. The chain on the upper link may need to be adjusted to have sufficient slack to allow the mower to track the ground when you approach a hill.

As for the PTO -- well, unless your 8N has been given a new PTO shaft at some point, you'll need an adapter. These are available at most farm stores. You also may need to shorten the PTO shaft on the mower.

How would I know if I needed to shorten the PTO shafton the mower?

I think I can see how the lower arms fit, but do they go on the inside of the mower or on the outside of the hookup point?

ANy details would be much appreciated.

Also, what is the maximum height of grass that can be tackled with this, it has been about two weeks since last woming and I am starting to get seed on some of it, will this cut that?

Try the pto shaft after installing the ORC, you may not need to shorten the shaft.

The ORC may not be necessary with the finish mower but is absolutely mandatory with a bush hog type mower, won't hurt to use with the finish mower.
