I just was given a plow with the following information cast into it.

114X
Vulcan
Middle Breaker
Vulcan Plow Co
Evansville, Ind.

There is a casting attached to the bottom edge with 110-2-4L cast into it.

It has a pair of the big wing looking thingies on the rear but the points in the front are missing.

About when would this have been made and what color's should it be painted. Any other info??? Thanx a bunch ;>)

What do they call you informally? Welcome back. I guess you found out that NC is the only place to be?
Most old plows came with natural ash or oak handles, often with mfg name stencilled in black ink. The metal parts were often japanned or left natural with an oil coating. I'm not sure about where the Vulcan was made, but I've seen a bunch of them. As far as painting, paint it whatever color you want. You can probably find replacement points at farm or implment sales.

I'm on the south side of Charlotte in Monroe, NC. Moved here after deciding I couldn't stand it in SoCal.
