Here in western VA we have a lot of locust trees and brush with long thorns that get into my front tires causing flats. An old timer here says that they make a tire liner that keeps most of those thorns from reaching the inner tube. My local tire dealer says he has not seen any for several years now. I have 5.50 X 16 ribbed fronts. Anyone know where I can get liners for them?

You might also try some of the products that seal leaks. Never leak was what we used. When you get a flat just roll the wheel so the leak is at the bottom and air it up. With liners and never leak when we finally had to give up and repair flats we would sometimes have 10-15 holes in the tubes. We generally just discarded the tube and started over. However the liners do turn a lot of thorns.

Lou VA You can go to your local fire dept. and pick up a section of old fire hose ,cut out the heavy cloth from the rubber and line it with that,it should slow down the thorns from puncturing your inner tube!!!!! Good Luck Larry Renaldi
