I have emjoyed this forum so much and when times get a bit tense with my job I can escape and fo out on my little farm after teaching high school and quickly forget ab out the world problems. You would think that up in N. Minnesota, we would be isolated from the tragedy of the world but that is not the case. I spent 3 hours on my 8n last night trying to find some relief but allI could think about is the victims of the tragedy and the name Bin Laden would not leave my brain. I have taught high school for 33 years and I want you to know that this tragedy has impacted the kids like I have never seen in all of my years. Our school is very small with 60 in the graduating class. One graduate is career military Army stationed at the pentagon and he lost many of his fellow soldiers. Another is vp of American Express and her office building faces the WTC towers. She saw and felt and experienced the tragedy of that day. Another is an accountant with Raytheon in Boston and he always flies Boston to LA on tuesday mornings but this particular morning he had a meeting in Dallas that caused him to fly early. 8 of his asociates were not so fortunate. Their plane flew into the WTC. His dad relayed to me this morning that the 8 raytheon employees were rushing to catch their flight and a friend of theirs saw them off and 4 arab type individuals boarded right behind them and then the gate closed. Our world became very small indeed. I can't help but feel that we are all in for a new way of living that is going to be unlike anything any of has ever experienced before. God have mercy on us and may Go

...interesting comment. It stings reading your post...how close it seems to hit.

Where in northern Minnesota? Been to International Falls several times, spent a summer on Crane Lake removing cabins on new National Park land in the early 80's, ventured out of Ely on numerous trips, hunkered down in Duluth a couple times and slept in the RR yard there between some tracks and a building one night along the St. Louis River, and of course hitched and traveled up the north shore numbers of times. Love it...want to go back. May be there next summer for a couple weeks on a temporary assignment. 9N'er
