Have any of you guys ever swapped a ZA motor into a R? I've got a ZA with a busted rear end and a R with a bad stuck motor.

Will the ZA clutch and flywheel fit in the R bellhousing or will I need to use those parts from the R? Anything else to pay special attention to?

I haven't done this, but having restored both R's and Z's, you will have to use the R flywheel and clutch. (you could probably make the ZA clutch work somehow, but it would require some special machine work.) It seems like everything else should bolt up. Remember, the R transmission is now somewhat overloaded and may not stand up to all the abuse the ZA engine could dish out.

It does require the R clutch and flywheel. If it is just for the occasional pull ands or show/parade if the R rear is in good shape it should hold up ok. Mine has!
