This reply will probably result in my crucifiction. I am about as diehard MM as earthly possible. I do a little bit of local antique pulling with a 900 cube GVI. I have entertained building a 585 turbo hot farm stock rig. I personally think it would be easier to build a 619 based Deere and then paint it industrial yellow. There are just so many more replacement parts available, and you are starting off with an engine designed for a turbo

THE MAN INJECTION SYSTEM STOPS BEING EFECTIVE AFTER ABOUT 400 CC OF FUEL.CONVERT TO 8.3 CUMMINS INJECTORS AND WELD UP THE BOWLS AND REMACHINE THE BOWLS .MAKING SURE TO GET COMPRESSION RATIO AT OR ABOUT 16.5 TO 1 AND ENJOY THE RIDE

The 1355 suffers from the MAN system. Minor pump and injector work would be very pricey. As you would need to change the above out for a P pump and respective injectors.
