You talk about a sick feeling. The Vista has set for about 3 months so I slapped a battery in it to start it up this afternoon. It wouldnt crank over.It usually cranks right over and starts easily.

So I pulled the dip stick and it was way over full. So,I pulled the oil pan plug and drained out at least 2 gallons of anti-freeze.The engine was in great shape and had been overhauled in the past 10-15 years.

Why would a head gasket let go just sitting there?I really dont want to tear it down right now.Can I pull the injectors and put diesel in the cylinders.I'm not sure which head gasket let go.

Hello if you have a head gasket that left go it could have filled a cylinder or two and if one of them was coming up on compression it would hydro lock the motor. Happened to me some years back, just put three new heads on a G-1000 Vista and had it running good came back to it in the morning and it wouldn't turn seen a little water trickle down from the exhaust manifold on number 6 cyl. so I pulled the injectors on 5 & 6 and hit the starter and it shot water clear across the shop found the block was cracked in the number 6 hole and it opened up from running it the night before so I had to pull the back head and block and replace the block. If it had anti-freeze in the oil I'd pull the pan and maybe the bearing caps to try and get it all off the bearings so the don't get wipedout form lack of oil. joe

Is a cylinder full of water?

I'd say that at least two cylinders are full of anti-freeze.Since its stuck it had to come from above the pistons so it about has to be a head gasket. The exhaust is covered.

It hasnt done any work in 5 years and ran perfect 3 months ago.If it were a water pump seal it wouldnt be stuck.

Are you sure it's a head gasket??

Stuck engine sounds fishy - but MM engines have notoriously bad water pump seals...

I ran 800, HD800, 605, 504, and HUA engines and had to replace water pump seals more times than I can remember...

Of course, if you've got a rusty spark plug, it could also mean a head is cracked... :(
