My question is I know the firing order is 123 but on the distributor cap is where I'm curious if I got it right. I currently have the plug wire running to the distributor cap starting from the bottom right as 1-2-3. Is this right on the distributor cap or is it wrong. I notice it back fires one time about every 20 seconds. Could just be my plugs or wires...don't know. I am just wondering if I have the plug wires going into the distributor right. Any help is appreciated.

Set the number one piston to top dead center then remove the cap and see where the rotor is pointing as the #1 plug needs to fire on the compression stoke near TDC. Hope this helps....
