My brother picked up a M-H self propelled corn picker at a auction. The machine runs well and actually does a good job in corn. With the adjustibale husking rollers it can even be used for sweet corn.My question is what year is it and did it have a model ? we've gone through many antique sourses and so far came up with nothing. Any help would be great. Thanks Mike

Mike

There was no model # on the self propelled cornpicker. Yhe firts ones had a Continental 162 CI flathead 4 cyl. After serial # 12001 they used a Continental 226 CI flathead 6 cyl.. The literature says it has 24 forward speeds, where in actuality it is a variable speed drive.

Wondering if the unit will pick popcorn too, without shelling the ends of the ears.
I need a popcorn picker. I sell the whole ear as a microwaveable commodity and it needs to look Good!
Thanks,

I have one of these two, nin running, I was wondering what he paid for it? ALSO I have a few mh buyers guides in front of me, the one I have is a 55 they made them several years, they even made one with a sheller to go into a barge or gravity box. 226 engine 6 cylinder, probably a continental flathead, they did put 4s in some of them, 24 speed, literature says 30 to 50 acres a day , probably not in todays corn, did have a manual but sold it, they don't come up on ebay very often and usually bring 75.00, for the manual

To Whom it May Concern: We have a Massey 2 row self propelled corn picker with a 6 cyl. motor. Would you please give us some ways that we could find out the value of this piece of machinery? We would gratefully appreciate your help. Hope to hear from you soon.

Mike

Watch ebay under "Massey", an operators manual shows up about once a month.
