Thank you for the reply. I have done all that except I can't get the baffle out of cleaner housing to remove the mesh. The mesh is junk.
I may have to pull it out in pieces and replace in pieces.

Grab that retainer with a pair of channel locks and twist and yank till it comes out, its only pressed in and will come out. then grab the mesh with some pliers and pull it out and either rinse in gas or just buy a new one. they are available and might even be bought on this site.
