I get an oil leak on the floor from the crankcase oil drain plug. I've tightened it pretty good and don't want to lean on it much more. Was there a felt washer or special nut for the hole? The tractor is a 1960 MF35 gas..... a great little tractor with a loader I just bought it and changed the oil and added Rislone to the oil for extra maintenance. It doesn't leak much but its still a nuisance.

I'm looking for a rubber gasket for the oil drain plug which goes on a TO20 Ferguson. The rubber gasket is about 6 1/2 inches. This goes on the bottom of the oil pan and holds up the oil filter. It also has an additional drain plug. My present gasket is slightly damaged and I can't get it to stop leaking. Can anyone help me find the rubber gasket/ring? Thanks Cletus

The original gasket for the drain plug is a composite type. There is a soft center filling (sounds like some kind of candy, doesn't it) but seriously, it is metal on the outside and there is a soft putty type of material which when put in use presses out and usually makes for a leak proof plug.

There should probably be a washer of some type, fibre, aluminum, copper, etc. Drain the oil and check out the plug. Take the plug over to one of the quick lube places or visit NAPA or some other aftermarket house. They'll be able to supply you with a decent washer that will fit properly. If the threads appear OK, then that's all you should have to do. Don't use any teflon tape on the threads, you don't want any of that stuff in the oil pan. You could try a little Permatex gasket goo on the threads. Make sure you get the stuff that is always flexible and doesn't dry hard and permanent. Good luck.

You can make a washer out of a piece of a margarine container top..the plastic is durable and is almost identical to what you will get from the auto supply house. I've done it on my old truck and that home made washer has been there for about 3 years now. Copper is probably the bestif you don't trust plastic. Mike, I'm retired and I'm a cheapskate too. Drop me a line !
